Walter Rentschler

Walter Rentschler (born March 19, 1911 in Tübingen ; † October 21, 1984 in Stuttgart ) was a German physicist , mathematician and university professor, he was 1965-1967 rector of the Hohenheim Agricultural University (LWH).

Live and act

After school and high school with Abitur in Tübingen in 1929, Walter Rentschler began studying physics and mathematics at the University of Tübingen and the University of Munich (1929–1934), which he completed in 1934 with a doctorate. rer. nat. graduated from the University of Tübingen. After a two-year assistantship at the Physics Institute of the Hohenheim Agricultural University, he joined the research and development department of Robert Bosch GmbH in Stuttgart. In 1945 he took supplementary courses in physics and mathematics in Hohenheim and became a board member of the LWH's Physics Institute.

After his habilitation in 1948 with Venia legendi for the field of physics, he became a lecturer, adjunct professor, associate professor and after being appointed to the re-established chair for physics and meteorology in 1963 ord. Professor at the LWH.

Walter Rentschler was a member of the Grand Senate, Senate, Faculty Council and Study Committee. 1965–1967 he was rector of the LWH, 1971–1973 dean of the department for biology and general natural sciences. Rentschler retired in 1984 .
