Alvaro Načinović ( Serbian - Cyrillic Алваро Начиновић , born March 2, 1966 in Rijeka ) is a former Croatian handball player .
Career
Alvaro Načinović started playing handball in his hometown at RK Zamet Rijeka . With the Croatian top club Badel 1862 Zagreb , the circle runner won the European Cup in 1992 and 1993 as well as the Croatian championship and the cup several times. With the Slovenian club Celje Pivovarna Laško he also won the double in 1998 . He then returned to Rijeka for two years. After another season in Celje, he let his career at RK Crikvenica end.
With the Yugoslav national team , Alvaro Načinović won bronze at the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul, with the Croatian national team he won bronze at the 1994 European Championship and silver at the 1995 World Championship . The greatest success of his career was the Olympic victory at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta.
