The Suwon Arena is a large sports hall in Suwon , Gyeonggi-do , South Korea . The hall was opened in 1984. It is part of the Suwon Sports Complex, which also houses the Suwon Stadium .
The first users of this arena were the Suwon Samsung Thunders from the KBL . In 1997 they moved into the arena and until 2001 the arena served as the home of their games. A year later, the Suwon Samsung Life Bichumi moved out of the WKBL and stayed in the arena from 1998 to 2005. In 2005, Suwon Hyundai Engineering & Construction Hillstate, a women's volleyball team from the V-League , moved in, before a men's volleyball team from the V-League also moved in in 2008 with the Suwon KEPCO Vixtorm . Between 2010 and 2012 the arena served as the venue for the KOVO Cup , the national volleyball cup .
