The Daegu Stadium was a football stadium in the South Korean city of Daegu .

history

The stadium was opened on April 20, 1948. The stadium was first used for the K League in 1983 . It was then used for the 1986 Asian Games . In 1987 the Pohang Atoms use the stadium as their home ground . In 1988 the stadium was a venue for the Summer Olympics . In 2003, the stadium was used again as a venue for the Daegu Summer Universiade . Daegu FC used the stadium from 2003 to 2015 .

In 2017, the city of Daegu decided to demolish the stadium and replace it with a new football stadium, DGB Daegu Bank Park , which will serve as the new home ground for Daegu FC once the construction work is completed.
