The 1983 Super League was the first season of the highest South Korean football league . The league consisted of five clubs; two clubs were professional teams ( Hallelujah FC and Yukong Elephants ), the other three ( POSCO , Daewoo and Kookmin Bank FC ) were semi-professional clubs .

The league began on May 8, 1983 and ended on September 25, 1983. The season was divided into a round trip. In the first half of the season they played in Seoul , Busan , Daegu , Jeonju and Daejeon and in the second half of the season they played again in Seoul, Busan and Daegu as well as in Gwangju , Chuncheon , Masan and Andong .
