The 1986 Football Grand Prix was the fourth season of the South Korean football league . The league consisted of six clubs; five clubs were professional teams ( Yukong Elephants , Daewoo Royals , POSCO Atoms , Lucky-Goldstar Hwangso and Hyundai Horang-i ) and the other ( Hanil Bank FC ) was an amateur. Hallelujah FC , which was founded as the first professional football club in the K League, was eliminated from the K League , as was Sangmu FC .
The league began on March 2 and ended on November 16, 1986. The season was divided into two semi-series. The winner of the first half series played against the winner of the second half series for the championship.

Championship play-off
The champions of the first half series played against the champions of the second half series in a play-off round with a round trip for the championship. The first leg took place on November 22, 1986 and the second leg a day later. The winner took part in qualifying for the 1987 Asian Club Championship .
