The Jeonju Stadium is a football stadium in the South Korean city of Jeonju , Province of Jeollanam-do . The stadium was built in 1980. In 1983 the K League used the stadium as the venue for the league.
The stadium was not used again until the 1994 K League . Chonbuk Buffalo played at the stadium again this season. After that, the stadium was used by Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors until 2002 . After Jeonbuk Hyundai moved out, the stadium was used by Jeonju Ongoeul FC between 2005 and 2008 before the club was dissolved. There were no new users until 2017.
Due to the 2017 U-20 World Cup , Jeonbuk Hyundai had to move out of the actual stadium by March 2017 and play their home games in this stadium. After Jeonbuk Hyundai moved out again, the city of Jeonju decided to make the stadium available to Jeonju FC as a home ground from June of the same year.
