Jeonju Ongoeul FC was a soccer franchise based in Jeonju , South Korea . The club was a K3 League member and competed in the league between 2008 and 2009.
history
First years (2005-2007)
The club was founded in 2005 under the name Jeonbuk FC . Between 2005 and 2007 they played in various amateur tournaments outside of the KFA league system. In 2008 the club joined the K3 League and renamed itself Jeonju Ongoeul FC . Yu Jong-heui was signed as a coach . For the K3 League they moved to the Jeonju Stadium , where Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors had also played their games earlier.
K3 League (2008-2010)
The first season in the K3 League went well. After 15 games in the first half of the season, they were 6th out of 10 teams with 26 points. The second half of the season was worse. After 15 games they were 9th out of a total of 10 teams with 19 points. They were also deducted 6 points from the K3 League in the season, which is why they ended up on the penultimate place. They could not qualify for the Korean FA Cup .
In 2009, the season didn't go that well. After 32 match days, the team was in 14th place with 40 points. Also this season they could not qualify for the Korean FA Cup.
At the end of 2009, the club announced that they would be leaving the K3 League due to financial irregularities and that they would no longer participate in league games in 2010.

rivalry
There was a derby between Jeonju EM FC and Ongoeul due to their geographic location. This derby was called the "Bibimbap Derby".
