Siheung Citizen FC is a soccer franchise based in Siheung , South Korea . The club plays in the K3 League Basic , the fifth highest division in South Korea.
history
Foundation (2015)
The club was founded on October 24, 2015. Since the K3 League season was already running at the time, the club did not join the K3 League until 2016. The Spaniard Kike Linero was signed as the club's first coach .
Premiere season (2016)
Her first season went well in terms of sport. Until the last day of the game they had the chance to get promoted to the K3 League Advance . But they finished the regular season in 12th place and then had to play in the promotion games against Cheongju FC . The club was seen as the favorite for the game, but lost the game 1: 2 at home and had to go to the newly founded K3 League Basic . Her first cup season did not go well during this. The club lost 3-2 at home to U-League member Yonsei University in the first round .
Present (2017-)
In the following season, the season goal promotion was issued, which is why the club was able to commit good players. From the start the season was a duel against league rivals Seoul Jungnang FC , which they had to admit defeat by one point. They only got 2nd place. In the subsequent play-off games, they played at home against FC Uijeongbu and surprisingly lost 2-1. This meant that the season's goal of promotion had not been achieved. In the cup, the club could not convince again. In the first round of the cup, they met Soongsil University , which they had to admit defeat 0-1.
After the club narrowly missed promotion in the previous season, the squad was reinforced again. With Gléguer Zorzin , a new coach was also introduced to the club. During the entire season, the club was in first place and was able to achieve promotion without great difficulty. Two game days before the end of the season they were confirmed as promoted and league champions. The cup season was also much better this time. In the first round they met the Korea Fuji Xerox amateur team , which they could defeat 9-0 without risk. In the following round they met Cheongju FC, which they could beat 1-0 this time. In the following 3rd main round they met fourth division Yangpyeong FC , which they had to admit defeat by 1: 2.
