Pyeongtaek Citizen FC is a soccer franchise based in Pyeongtaek , South Korea . The club takes part in the K3 League Advance , the fourth highest division in South Korea.
history
Foundation (2016/17)
The Pyeongtaeks city council announced on December 2, 2016 that it would set up a club for the 2017 season . Jo Jeong-ho was signed as coach. On February 18, 2017, the club was officially founded under the name Pyeongtaek Citizen FC.
First seasons (2017–)
Your inaugural season went very well. After the end of the regular season, the club was in third place in the table and thus qualified for the play-off games for the K3 League Advance . In the play-off semi-finals they beat Buyeo FC 3-0 at home . Then they received FC Uijeongbu at home in the play-off final . The game ended 2-2, but since Pyeongtaek had home rights, the game was considered a victory in favor of the home team, so Pyeongtaek could celebrate promotion in their first season. In their premiere cup season they met the amateur team Ulsan Sejong Industrial in the first round . They were able to defeat them 5-2. Then they met U-League member Gwangju Honam University in the second round . However, the game ended with 0: 1.
The first fourth division season went well. The club initially played against relegation, but gradually moved further and further away from the last three teams, so they could safely celebrate relegation. The cup season could also be considered a success. In their first round, they met Yeungnam University , which could be defeated 4-3 on penalties. In the next round they met league rivals Gimpo Citizen FC , which they lost 2-1.
