The Råsunda Idrottsplats , often abbreviated as Råsunda IP , ( German : Råsunda-Sportplatz) was a football stadium in Solna , Sweden .
history
The stadium was opened on September 18, 1910 and was the home ground of AIK Fotboll . It had a capacity of 2000 seats. However, up to 18,569 spectators attended the games in the stadium.
On June 18, 1911, the first international match took place at Råsunda IP. The Swedish national team was subject to the selection of the German Reich . During the 1912 Summer Olympics , Råsunda IP games of the Olympic football tournament were played. From then on, the AIK played its home games in the Olympic Stadium in Stockholm . In 1937 the Råsunda IP was demolished. The Råsundastadion was built on the same spot .
