Derby between FC Kuusysi and Lahden Reipas (0: 3) on May 16, 2018
The venue was for the football tournament of the Summer Olympics in 1952 in Helsinki built. The preliminary round matches between Poland and France (2: 1) and Luxembourg and the United Kingdom (5: 3 a.s.) and the round of 16 between Turkey and the Netherlands Antilles (2: 1) took place.
In 1967, the audience record that is still valid today was set. In the city of Derby met Upon Pallo on Reipas Lahti and attracted 8,144 visitors. The Lahden kisapuisto experienced its first international game at European club level on September 29, 1982 in the European Cup Winners' Cup 1982/83 . In the first round, Kuusysi Lahti met Turkish representative Galatasaray Istanbul in the second leg . The game ended in a 1-1 draw. Kuusysi was eliminated because of the first leg defeat with 1: 2. Since the stadium did not have a floodlight system, the game had to kick off in the early afternoon. In 1981 the Lahti Stadium was opened and replaced the old facility as the main venue for major sporting events. On October 29, 2003, part of the main stand burned down after a girl smoked there and accidentally started the fire. The damage amounted to around 30,000 euros.
The sports park also includes a training field with artificial turf , tennis courts and a basketball court as well as a private badminton, tennis and squash hall. The facility is used by other sports teams from Lahti such as the Lahti Jets ( American Football ) or the Lahti Predators ( Lacrosse ). The Lahden kisapuisto is out of date by today's standards. Plastic bucket seats were installed on the main stand. The playing field received an artificial turf. In April 2016, Sanni Grahn-Laasonen , the Minister for Education and Culture, provided the city with 200,000 euros for the renovation of the artificial play area. The site would have to be extensively renovated. So far, however, no investors have been found until the city has decided to finance it. The urban real estate company Spatium would take over three million euros if the city took a share of 7.4 million euros. In addition, the city of Lahti would have to pay a capital rent of well over half a million euros and the annual operating costs would also rise.
