The Ajinomoto Stadium ( Jap. 味の素スタジアム , Ajinomoto Sutajiamu ; formerly Tokyo stadium ) is a Wettkampfstätte in Japanese Chōfu , Tokyo .

The operator of the stadium is the KK Tōkyō Stadium ( 株式会社 東京 ス タ ジ ア ム ; kabushiki kaisha Tōkyō Sutajiamu ), which is 36.3% owned by the Tokyo Prefecture.

history

The stadium , which opened in March 2001, has 49,970 covered seats (lower tier with VIP seats: 29,370 seats, upper tier: 20,600 seats) and is the home ground of the Tokyo football clubs FC Tokyo and Tokyo Verdy .
