The Shizuoka Ecopa Stadium ( Japanese. 静岡 ス タ ジ ア ム ・ エ コ パ , Shizuoka Sutajiamu Ekopa ; official name: 静岡 県 小 笠 山 総 合 運動 公園 ス タ ジ ア ム , Shizuoka „-ken Ogasayama-sōgiamō- ken Ogasayama -sōgiamō Stadium “) Is a football stadium with an athletics facility in the Japanese city of Fukuroi in Shizuoka Prefecture .
history
The arena, which opened in March 2001, is located in the "Ogasayama Sports Park" ( 小 笠 山 総 合 運動 公園 , Ogasayama sōgō undō kōen , English Ogasayama Sports Park ). With additional rows of seats, the stadium can be expanded to a maximum of 51,349 covered seats. The name Ecopa is derived from the two English words Ecology Park (German: Ecology Park); rainwater is stored and used to water the lawn and toilets. The venue was one of the Japanese stadiums for the 2002 World Cup , which played three games.
The stadium has a total area of 83,279 m². There are 3,695 parking spaces available for visitors. The Shizuoka-Ecopa is used today by the two J. League clubs Shimizu S-Pulse and Júbilo Iwata . They also played the first game in the stadium, with Jubilo winning 8: 7 goals. Athletics competitions and rugby games are also held there. The multi-purpose hall Ecopa Arena with 10,000 seats , which was also inaugurated in 2001, is located in the vicinity of the sports facility .
