The Stade Joseph Marien is a sports stadium in Forest / Vorst in the "bacon belt" of the Belgian capital, Brussels . The 8,000-seat stadium is the home ground of Royale Union Saint-Gilloise .

history

In 1909 the Club Royale Union Saint-Gilloise acquired a playing area in Duden Park, where construction of the stadium began in 1915. After the First World War , construction work was finished in 1912 and the stadium was inaugurated on September 14 with a test match against AC Milan . As part of the 1920 Summer Olympics , the Duden Park Stadium, as the stadium was called at that time, held three games of the Olympic football tournament.
