Summer Olympics 2020 (boxing)

The Ryōgoku Kokugikan ( Japanese 両 国 国 技 館 ), also known as the Sumō Hall , is a sports hall in Yokoami, Sumida , Tokyo Prefecture , Japan .

The original building of the same name was located further south in the neighboring district of Ryogoku. The current building opened in 1985, has a capacity of 13,000 seats and is the third building in Tokyo to bear this name. It is mainly used to host Sumō tournaments ( Hon-Basho ). The hatsu basho (New Year's tournament) takes place here in January, the natsu basho (summer tournament) in May and the aki basho (autumn tournament) in September. A sumo museum is also housed in the building. The hall is also used for other events such as wrestling, boxing and concerts. At the Summer Olympics in 2020 here are to boxing matches take place.
