The Kasumigaseki Country Club ( Japanese 霞 ヶ 関 カ ン ツ リ ー 倶 楽 部 , Kasumigaseki kantsurī kurabu ) is a private golf course in the city of Kawagoe , in the Japanese prefecture of Saitama .
history
The Kasumigaseki Country Club opened on October 6, 1929 and was the first golf course in Saitama. It has an east and a west course. The east course was designed by Kinya Fujita, Shiro Akaboshi and Charles H. Alison. Seiichi Inoue's west course.
The facility has often been used as a venue for international golf tournaments, for example the World Cup was held here in 1957 . The Japan Open Golf Championships took place here four times (1933, 1956, 1995 and 2006). The 2010 Asian Amateur Championship was also held on the golf course.
In November 2017, US President Donald Trump met with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzō Abe at the Kasumigaseki Country Club.
For the 2020 Summer Olympics , the golf course will serve as a competition venue for the two men's and women's golf competitions .
