Bjarki Sigurðsson

Bjarki Sigurðsson (born November 16, 1967 ) is a former Icelandic handball player . Since the end of his career he has been working as a handball trainer.

The 1.86 m tall and 76 kg heavy left-hander played on the right winger . With the Icelandic national team he took part in the 1988 Olympic Games and finished eighth. At the 1993 World Cup , he was elected to the All-Star team. He played 228 international matches in which he scored 575 goals. During his career he played for the club teams of Víkingur, Aftureldingar, Drammen HK and FH Hafnarfjörður .

Bjarki Sigurðsson coached the club Aftureldingar between 2000 and 2002 and 2006 and 2008. In 2010 he took over as coach from ÍR Reykjavík.
