societies

Early career (1996-2004)

Jensen started his career at B.93 Copenhagen in Denmark . He made his professional debut in 1996 and moved two years later to SC Heerenveen in the Dutch Eredivisie . At SC Heerenveen, with whom he also played in the Champions League in the 2000/01 season , he received the necessary tactical training. After more than 100 games, he moved to the Spanish promoted Real Murcia in the Primera División in 2003 . There he received a one-year contract. With the words "Better to play in Spain in the first division than in Italy in Serie B", he decided against a move to Atalanta Bergamo . Jensen saw three red cards this season . After Real Murcia was relegated from bottom of the table, Jensen wanted to leave the club. However, he made use of a fixed contract extension, so that Jensen, for whom there were a number of interested parties from Germany, was due a transfer fee.

Ups and downs in Bremen (2004–2011)

In July 2004 Jensen moved to the Bundesliga for SV Werder Bremen , who had become German champions and cup winners in the previous season . On January 22, 2008, after an outstanding first half of the season, he extended his contract period to June 30, 2011. On May 11, 2011 Jensen was suspended with immediate effect after critical comments about coach Thomas Schaaf , after he was not considered for the game against Borussia Dortmund would have. It would have been the last chance Jensen had to play a home game for Werder as his contract ended after the season.

Novara Calcio (2011-2012)

After half a year without a club, Jensen was signed by the Serie A club and promoted Novara Calcio until the end of June 2013. After relegation in 2012, his employer did not report him to play in Serie B. Jensen, who was surprised by this decision, was assured the opportunity to leave the club after the first half of the season. On November 4, 2012, the contract with Novara, which ran until June 30, 2013, was terminated by mutual agreement.

FC Copenhagen (2013)

On January 19, 2013 Jensen returned to Denmark for FC Copenhagen . He made his debut for Copenhagen on March 3, 2013, when he was in the starting line-up against Odense BK on matchday 21 of the Superliga and was substituted on after 71 minutes. For the Danish record champions, he came to ten point games. At the end of the season he was with the club of Danish champions. After the end of the season, he left the club and was clubless.

SönderjyskE (2013-2015)

After four months without a club, Jensen signed a one-year contract with Sønderjysk Elitesport , which was extended in 2014.

Lyngby BK (2015-2016)

When Jensen's contract was not renewed after the end of the 2014/15 season, he found a new employer in the Danish second division club Lyngby BK , with whom he signed a one-year contract. After the contract expired, he ended his career.

National team

Jensen played his first international game for Denmark under Morten Olsen on February 13, 2002 in a 1-0 win over Saudi Arabia in Riyadh . However, he was not nominated for the Danish squad for the 2002 World Cup . For many months there was radio silence between national coach Olsen and Jensen. The Copenhagen-born midfielder admitted that he “actually didn't think much about the long break in the national team” and was of the opinion that he had “fully focused on the club” and, according to his own statement, international matches “always after good performance in the League ”follow. He celebrated his return to the national team in November 2003 when he played in the friendly against England at Old Trafford Stadium in Manchester and contributed to the 3-2 win against David Beckham's team. In the following years he took part in the European Championship in 2004 and was also a fixture in the national team.

In the qualification for the 2006 World Cup he was used in six games, but you could not qualify for the said tournament because you only took third place behind Ukraine and Turkey . In qualifying for the European Championship 2008 it was only enough to place fourth behind Spain , Sweden and Northern Ireland . Jensen made ten appearances in qualifying for the final tournament and scored one goal. In the qualification for the 2010 World Cup Jensen came in six games used. Jensen had with his 3-2 winner in the second qualifying game on September 10, 2008 in the José Alvalade Stadium in Lisbon against Portugal share in first place ahead of the favored Lusitanians, who then had to be relegated.

On May 28, 2010 Jensen was nominated by Morten Olsen for the Danish World Cup squad . In the competition, Jensen was substituted on in the second group game against Cameroon . Denmark retired as third in the group behind the later vice world champions from the Netherlands and Japan . In qualifying for EM 2012 , Jensen made a single appearance. Jensen made his last international match on November 17, 2010 when he was in the starting line-up in the 0-0 draw in the friendly against the Czech Republic in Aarhus and was replaced by Martin Jørgensen after 28 minutes .
