In addition to the World Cup qualifying matches, the Danes played three friendlies in the 2009/10 season, all three of which were played in Denmark against other World Cup participants. There was a 2-1 defeat against Chile in August , a 0-0 win against South Korea and a 3-1 win against the USA in November . At the draw for the World Cup in South Africa, they were drawn to the group with the Netherlands , against whom they last scored 1-1 shortly before the 2008 European Championship in Eindhoven . Furthermore, Japan and Cameroon were drawn into the group. In January 2010, the Ligalandsholdet , a national team with only players from the Danish league, won a tournament in Thailand under coach Morten Olsen . The Danes defeated a Polish league selection 3-1, the senior national team of Singapore 5-1 and in the final the hosts' A selection 3-0.
