Honduran contingent

National coach Reinaldo Rueda nominated his final World Cup squad on May 11, 2010, one month before the registration deadline. In addition to the 23 players for the World Cup, Rueda also nominated seven reserve players ( Kevin Hernández , Melvin Valladares (both Real España), Carlo Costly (FC Vaslui / Romania), Mariano Acevedo , Erick Norales (both Marathón), Jerry Palacios (Hangzhou Nabel Greentown / China), Johnny Leverón (Motagua)) to compensate for any injury-related losses. Shortly before the opening game, Julio César de León had to leave injured and was replaced by Jerry Palacios. This means that for the first time in World Cup history, Jerry, Johnny and Wilson Palacios are three brothers in one team at the same time.
