Noel Eduardo Valladares Bonilla (born May 3, 1977 in Ciudad de Comayagua ) is a Honduran football goalkeeper. Since January 2006, the goalkeeper has been between the posts for the Honduran capital club Club Deportivo Olimpia .
Club career
Valladares began his career at his hometown club Real Comayagua, for which he was without a commitment in 1995/96. He then moved to CD Motagua , where he only played as a substitute goalkeeper for the first three seasons. In 1997/98 he won his first championship titles in Apertura and Clausura with Motagua . From the 1999/2000 season Valladares was also used as a regular goalkeeper and won the two championships in the Liga Nacional de Fútbol de Honduras again this year . The following year he scored his first and only goal to date, while he added another title in 2001/02 by winning the Apertura. After two more seasons with CD Motagua, he left the club to play for 2004/05 at the capital club Olimpia Tegucigalpa . In the first year he became champion of the Clausura with the new team, one season later Olimpia won both titles with Valladares. To date, the goalkeeper has been three more times Clausura champion with Tegucigalpa. In 2010/11 Valladares played his first six games in the CONCACAF Champions League .
National team
Valladares was first appointed to the Honduran national team in 2000 . Since 2000, he has played 122 international matches for his home country.
Noel Valladares guarded the gate at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney when Honduras were eliminated with four points as group third in the preliminary round. He was also a member of the Honduran squad at the 1998 CONCACAF Gold Cup and the 2001 Copa América .
At the 2010 World Cup in South Africa , Noel Valladares also made his debut as a World Cup player when he played in the first group game against Chile. At the CONCACAF Gold Cup 2011 he was voted the tournament's best goalkeeper. In Brazil he is again a member of the Honduran squad for the 2014 World Cup . In the first group game against France, he caused an own goal .
