The 1998 CONCACAF Gold Cup was the 14th game of the continental football championship for North Central America and the Caribbean and the 4th under the name "Gold Cup" and took place from February 1st to 14th in the USA .

The USA qualified as runner-up for the 1999 FIFA Confederations Cup in Mexico, as tournament winners Mexico were qualified to host them.
