The 1969 CONCACAF Nations Cup was the fourth game of the continental football championship for North Central America and the Caribbean and took place in Costa Rica from November 23 to December 7 . It was played exclusively in the capital, San José, in the Estadio Nacional , which at the time held 25,000 spectators. The six participants played the tournament winner in a simple league round, everyone against everyone.

qualification

A total of ten nations took part in the qualification. Costa Rica as hosts and Guatemala as reigning champions automatically qualified. The ten teams were divided into five groups, with the winner each qualifying.

Honduras was disqualified due to the football war with El Salvador, so the Netherlands Antilles automatically qualified for the tournament.

El Salvador was disqualified due to the football war with Honduras, so Trinidad and Tobago automatically qualified for the tournament.

Haiti missed the entry deadline for the finals and was dismissed.
