The CONCACAF Gold Cup 2015 was the 23rd game of the continental football championship for North Central America and the Caribbean and the 13th under the name "Gold Cup". It took place from July 7th to 26th in the United States and Canada . Twelve national teams took part in the tournament, initially in groups and then in a knockout system .
Tournament winner Mexico played against the USA , the 2013 Gold Cup winner , in a play-off for participation in the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup in Russia , which Mexico won after extra time. If the USA had won the Gold Cup in 2015 as well, the Confed Cup playoff would have been canceled. In addition to Costa Rica, Jamaica, the USA and Mexico, two other participants also qualified for the Copa América Centenario 2016 , which also took place in the USA.

The qualification for the Gold Cup was organized by the three regional associations of CONCACAF :
Central America ( UNCAF zone)
All seven UNCAF associations participated in the 2014 Central American Cup, held in the United States in September 2014 . The first four teams were qualified for the CONCACAF Gold Cup. The fifth-placed team must play against a representative of the CFU in a play-off game.

On March 25 and 29, 2015, play-off games were played between the fifth-placed teams in the Central American and Caribbean Cups. The last participant in the Gold Cup was determined here.

Venues
In total, the tournament took place in 14 venues: 13 in the USA and one in Canada. Apart from the final stadium in Philadelphia and the arena for the small final in Chester, exactly two games were held in all other stadiums. The following venues were presented on December 16, 2014.

In the final round, the twelve participants formed three preliminary round groups with four teams each, of which the first two qualified for the quarter-finals. In addition, the two best third-placed finishers qualified. In the group stage, each team played against every other team in its group according to the championship mode, with three points awarded for a win and one point for a draw.
