The Haitian national football team is the selection team of the Caribbean island state of Haiti, which was established in 1904 by the Fédération Haïtienne de Football .
history
The Haitian footballers achieved their greatest success to date when they qualified for the 1974 World Cup in Germany. Here you had to admit defeat to Italy (1: 3), Poland (0: 7) and Argentina (1: 4) in the preliminary round . Both Haitian World Cup goals were scored by Emmanuel Sanon .
In 2007 the team won the Caribbean Nations Cup . So she qualified for the CONCACAF Gold Cup 2007 . Haiti did not get past the first round there.
By drawing lots at the CFU Caribbean Cup 2008 , Haiti qualified for the CONCACAF Gold Cup 2009 . Haiti lost the quarter-finals there against Mexico 4-0.
As part of the qualification for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, the team met the Netherlands Antilles in the second round of the CONCACAF zone . The first leg ended 0-0, the second leg 1-0 from a Haitian point of view. This moved the team into the third round, where they met Suriname , Costa Rica and El Salvador . There, however, Haiti retired as third party.

Because of the severe earthquake in Haiti in 2010 , Sat. 1 organized a charity match on March 7, 2010 between the Haiti national team and the “ ran all star team”, supervised by Werner Lorant , in the Augsburg impuls arena . Haiti won it 6-2.
