Football World Cup 1974 / Haiti

The Haitian national football team qualified for the 1974 World Cup. She was eliminated with three defeats in the preliminary round. Haiti 's participation in the World Cup has remained the only one to this day.

In their first game, the Haitians took the lead against Italy 1-0, but were still defeated 3-1. In the second game they were absolutely overwhelmed against Poland and lost 7-0. The team also had little to oppose the Argentines; they lost 1: 4.

• With Wilner Nazaire from the French second division FC Valenciennes only one European legionnaire was in the squad.
• After the Cuban national team that took part in the 1938 World Cup (see 1938 World Cup / Cuba ), Haiti was the second Caribbean World Cup participant in the tenth tournament.
