Guy Saint-Vil (born October 21, 1942 in Port-au-Prince ) is a former Haitian football player .

Career

society

Saint-Vil played in Haiti for Etoile Haïtienne and the record champions RC Haïtien , in 1967 he moved to the United States for Baltimore Bays , which at that time played in the NPSL . There he met 12 times in 28 missions and prepared another two. In 1968 he moved back home and signed again with RC Haïtien. In 1975 he continued his career in Baltimore , this time he moved to the Baltimore Comets .

National team

In qualifying for the 1970 World Cup , Saint-Vil was in action, where he scored a goal in the semi-finals against the United States in both the return leg. With Haiti , he made it to the play-off against El Salvador and was also in action in this encounter. Haiti lost the game 1-0, so qualifying for the 1970 World Cup had failed.

In the course of qualifying for the 1974 World Cup , he was back in the squad and played three games. This time the qualification could be achieved and so he took part with Haiti for the first time in the 1974 World Cup. There he was in action against Italy and Argentina .

To qualify for the 1978 World Cup , he was again in the squad and played four games.

His younger brother Roger Saint-Vil was also a national player for Haiti and also in the squad at the 1974 World Cup.
