Roger Saint-Vil (born December 8, 1949 in Port-au-Prince , † June 7, 2020 in New York City ) was a Haitian football player .
Career
society
Saint-Vil played for Archibald FC , a club from Trinidad and Tobago .
National team
In qualifying for the 1970 World Cup , Saint-Vil was used in the encounter against El Salvador , which Haiti lost 2-1.
In the course of qualifying for the 1974 World Cup , he was back in the squad and played three games. In the encounter against the Netherlands Antilles, he scored the second goal in the 2-0 victory.
The next game followed on December 4, 1973, this time the opponent was Trinidad and Tobago . After it was 1-1 until the 88th minute, Saint-Vil scored the 2-1 winner and secured important points for his team in the battle for qualification for the 1974 World Cup . With Haiti he finally managed to qualify and took part with his country for the first time in a World Cup.
At the 1974 World Cup, Saint-Vil was the only legionnaire in the squad alongside captain Wilner Nazaire . His only use was in the encounter against Poland , which Haiti lost 7-0.

His older brother Guy Saint-Vil was also a national player for Haiti and also in the squad at the 1974 World Cup.
