Antoine Tassy (born March 26, 1924 - March 3, 1991 ) was a Haitian football player and coach .

Career

In 1948 Tassy was under contract with Victory SC . With the senior national team of his home country he took part in the qualifying games for the 1954 World Cup; both games against the national team of Mexico were lost (0: 8 on July 19, 1953 and 0: 4 on December 27, 1953). In addition, the outfield player is said to have played at least in the games against Honduras and Cuba in the 1957 CCCF championship and scored three goals; Haiti was the tournament winner.

Between 1965 and 1975 Tassy is said to have been active as a coach of the local national team; during this time the team took part in the continental championships in 1965 (sixth), 1967 (fifth), 1971 (second) and 1973 (winner). By winning 1973 they qualified for the 1974 World Cup , where the national team was eliminated in the first round after three defeats against Italy (1: 3), Poland (0: 7) and Argentina (1: 4). Despite the early break, winning the continental championship and participating in the World Cup in 1974 are still considered the greatest successes in the history of Haitian football.
