Oribe Peralta Morones (born January 12, 1984 in Torreón , Mexico ) is a Mexican football player who has been under contract with Deportivo Guadalajara since 2019 . From 2005 to 2018 he played for the Mexican national team. He also participated with the Olympic team in the 2012 and 2016 Olympic Games, winning the gold medal in 2012.

Peralta received his first professional contract with CA Monarcas Morelia , for which he was allowed to celebrate his debut in the Mexican Primera División on February 22, 2003 , when he came on four minutes before the end of the game against arch-rivals America (1: 2). His second and last appearance in the Clausura 2003 took place in the following home game against Cruz Azul , in which Peralta came on 14 minutes before the final whistle and received his first yellow card in the top division.

In the following season Peralta was loaned to the second division León before he was brought by coach Miguel Herrera at the beginning of Apertura 2004 to CF Monterrey , for which he was used in all 22 season games (including the Liguillas ) with the exception of the season opener against Veracruz , although he only played six full distance games. Peralta thanked Herrera for the trust placed in him with five goals this season, the first of which he had scored 2-0 in the 79th minute against the capital city club Cruz Azul (final score 3-0) on August 28, 2004. At the end of his first season, in which Peralta had acted as a regular player or joker , the runner-up was (after the 1: 2 and 0: 1 defeat in the final against the UNAM Pumas, trained by the national legend Hugo Sánchez ).

At the beginning of Apertura 2006 he was signed by his "hometown club" Santos Laguna , with whom he won the championship twice. While he didn't get beyond the role of a joker in the first triumph in the Clausura in 2008 and did not play a single game over the full distance, four years later he was one of the indispensable regulars of his team when he won the title in the Clausura in 2012 and scored in this half-season 15 goals, more than ever before in his career. With a total of six goals that he achieved in the six games of the championship finals alone, he shot his team “alone” to the title. In the semifinals , the Guerreros won 1: 1 and 2: 2 against the Tigres , with Peralta scoring both goals in the second leg. Also in the finals against the North Mexican rivals and his former club CF Monterrey Peralta scored one goal in both games (1-1 and 2-1) and was thus an important guarantee for this success.

For the 2019/20 season he moved to rival Deportivo Guadalajara , which was viewed critically by fans of both clubs.

National team

On 9 March 2005 he made the 1: 1 against Argentina his first cap for the senior team when he came on in the 85th minute. After another game in April 2005 against Poland , he had to wait six years until he came on July 4, 2011 at the Copa America 2011 in Argentina to further appearances. He was used in all three games, but Mexico was eliminated after the preliminary round. On August 10, 2011, he scored his first international goal in a 1-1 draw against the USA .

In the summer of 2012, he was one of three senior players with the Olympic team at the Olympic Games in London , where Mexico won the gold medal for the first time. He was used in all six games. In the final against Brazil he scored the 1-0 after 29 seconds. This was the fastest goal in an Olympic football tournament until Neymar's goal in the semifinals against Honduras at the 2016 Olympics . In the 68th minute, another hit was not recognized because of offside. In the 75th, however, he was able to achieve the 2-0 after a free kick. He dedicated this goal to his teammate Giovani dos Santos , who was unable to play due to an injury in the semi-finals. For Mexico this was the only gold medal in London. In total, he scored four goals in the tournament, making it the third-best goalscorer. He is also the best Mexican goalscorer at the Olympic Games.

On November 20, 2013, Peralta scored a flawless hat trick in a 4-2 win in the World Cup qualifier against New Zealand to make it 3-0 at halftime. In 2014 and 2018 he took part in the soccer world championships with Mexico, but failed each time in the round of 16. At the 2014 World Cup , he scored the 1-0 winner against Cameroon .

In 2016 he took part with the national team in the Copa América Centenario 2016 , where he was used in two group matches. In the quarter-finals, the Mexicans had to admit defeat defending champions Chile 7-0 without him .

At the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , he was used in the games against Fiji (5-1) and Germany (2-2), in which he scored the first goal. The Mexicans could not defend their title, however, as they were eliminated after the group games.

Before the 2018 World Cup, he had announced that he would end his national team career after the World Cup.
