The CONCACAF Champions League 2015/2016 was the eighth edition of the competition under this name. The tournament began on August 5, 2015 with the group stage and ended with the finals on April 20 and 27, 20116. The defending champion was the Mexican club Club America .

Club América was able to defend its title from the previous season and won the competition for the seventh time. You qualified as a representative of CONCACAF for the FIFA Club World Cup 2016 in Japan.

mode

24 teams from 12 nations will take part in the 2015/16 Champions League. In the group phase, they play the eight participants for the knockout round in eight groups of three teams each . If two or more teams have the same number of points after the group stage, the following criteria are decided in the following order:

1. Number of points in direct comparison
2. Better goal difference in direct comparison
3. Higher number of away goals in direct comparison
4. Better goal difference from all group matches
5. Higher number of goals from all group matches
6. Higher number of away goals from all group matches
7. Drawing of lots

The eight group winners then compete against each other in a knockout phase, the away goals rule applies . The final will also be decided in a return match.

Knockout round

Quarter finals

The first legs of the quarter-finals took place on February 23 and 24, 2016, the second legs on March 1 and 2, 2016

For the first time in the history of the CONCACAF Champions League, only US and Mexican teams have qualified for the knockout round ; the teams from the other associations were all eliminated in the group stage.

The games were not drawn, but determined by a seeding list. The eight group winners were given start numbers 1 to 8 according to their ranking. In the quarter-finals, the teams in positions 1 and 8, 2 and 7, 3 and 6 and 4 and 5 play against each other.
