Osmar Mares Martínez (born June 17, 1987 in Torreón , Coahuila ) is a Mexican football player on the position of defender .

career

Mares began his professional career in 2006 at his hometown club Santos Laguna , with whom he won the Mexican football championship twice.

However, Mares scored his only two goals in the top Mexican soccer league during his one-year stint at San Luis FC : on January 8, 2011 at CF Monterrey (final score 2-0) and on April 2, 2011 at Querétaro FC (final score 2: 0) : 3) Mares managed the opening goal to make it 1-0 for San Luis.

Mares has been playing for the Mexican record champions Club América since 2014 , with whom he won another championship title in Apertura 2014 and the CONCACAF Champions League at the end of the same season .

In 2017 he switched to CD Veracruz , known as Tiburones Rojos , on loan . After a season there, he finally signed.

In January 2019 it was awarded to the Club Necaxa for six months .

In the summer of 2019, his contract in Veracruz was terminated . From there on he is without a club.
