Emanuel Villa (born February 24, 1982 in Casilda , Santa Fe province ), also known by the nickname Tito , is a former Argentine football player who played on the position of the striker .
Life
Emanuel Villa began his professional career in 2001 at CA Huracán , for whom he scored the winning goal in the derby against San Lorenzo on December 9, 2001. The 1-0 win was the only Huracán triumph so far in San Lorenzo's Nuevo Gasómetro stadium, which opened in 1993 .
After two years Villa was sold to Atlético de Rafaela , where he played in the 2003/04 season. After the club's relegation from the first division at the end of the same season, he moved to Rosario Central , where he was under contract until 2006.
For the 2006/07 season he moved to the Mexican club Atlas Guadalajara , before moving to their local rivals Tecos de la UAG in the second half of the same season , for whom he also went on goal hunting in the 2007 Apertura .
In early 2008 he moved to the English Premier League for Derby County FC for the sum of two million pounds , but at the end of the 2007/08 season he was relegated to the second division with a meager record of eleven points from 38 games . After Derby County had finished the following second division season 2008/09 only in 18th place and the Mexican first division club Cruz Azul had made a tempting offer, Villa returned to Mexico and was top scorer of the Mexican Primera División in the Apertura 2009 with 17 goals .
