Jürgen Damm Rascón (born November 7, 1992 in Tuxpan ) is a Mexican - German football player . The winger is under contract with UANL Tigres and is a Mexican international .

Club career

Damm, son of a German and a Mexican, spent a long time of his childhood in Canada . Damm's father was very important to his son's schooling, so he was only allowed to join a club at the age of 17: In 2010 he went to Atlas Guadalajara , where he stayed for a year.

In 2011 he joined the youth department of CD Estudiantes Tecos . From 2012 he was a regular member of the first team playing in Ascenso MX , Mexico's second soccer league. In total, Damm came to 20 missions, but he was denied a goal. Nevertheless, he moved into the focus of some first division clubs.

In 2013 he was signed by CF Pachuca . There he quickly became a regular player. He scored his first league goal on October 21, 2013 in the game against Deportivo Guadalajara . From August 2014 he played in the CONCACAF Champions League for the first time . There he scored a goal in three games (against CSD Municipal ).

In June 2015 Damm moved to the UANL Tigres club , with whom he reached the finals of the South American Copa Libertadores and won the Mexican football championship in Apertura 2015 .

National team

Due to his dual citizenship, Damm would also have been eligible to play for the German national soccer team. Since he started very late with competitive football, he never played for a junior team in Mexico. He was nominated by national coach Miguel Herrera in March 2015 for the friendlies against Ecuador and Paraguay . He made his debut in the game against Ecuador when he came on as a substitute with seven minutes remaining.

In his second game for the national team, the match against Honduras in qualifying for the 2018 World Cup , he scored his first goal when he scored the 2-0 in the 72nd minute, which was also the final score of the game.

As part of the Copa América 2016 , Damm was nominated for the Mexican squad by coach Juan Carlos Osorio . [outdated]

Style of play

Damm is one of the fastest football players in the world. According to a study by CF Pachuca , which has been confirmed by FIFA , he can reach speeds of up to 35 km / h with the ball on his foot. Only Gareth Bale is faster.
