Osvaldo Martínez (born April 8, 1986 in Luque ) is a Paraguayan football player who predominantly acts in midfield .

career

Martínez began his professional career in 2003 at Club Libertad , with whom he was four times in a row Paraguayan football champion in 2006, 2007 and 2008 (this year the championship in Paraguay was divided into an Apertura and Clausura for the first time ).

In the winter of 2008/09 he signed a contract with CF Monterrey , with whom he was twice Mexican champion and won the CONCACAF Champions League and the InterLiga once each in the following two and a half years .

He spent the 2011/12 season and the first half of the 2012/13 season at Club Atlante and joined Club America in the second half of the season , with whom he won two further championship titles and the CONCACAF Champions League again. He also won this competition in 2015/16 .

After his time at Club America , he moved to Santos Laguna in 2017 , with whom he won the Mexican league in 2017/18 .

In January Liga MX 2018/19 he moved to Atlas Guadalajara .

Exactly one year later, in January 2019/20 , he moved to Puebla FC .

Martínez has also been a Paraguayan international since 2008 and has taken part in the Copa America twice ( 2011 , where he was runner- up with Paraguay , and 2015 ).
