Hugo Alfonso González Durán (born August 1, 1990 in San Luis Potosí , San Luis Potosí ) is a Mexican football player on the position of goalkeeper .

career

González Durán began his professional career at Club América , where he was under contract from 2007 to the end of 2016. Until 2009 he was still in the squad of the reserve teams Socio Águila and América Coapa . In 2010 he made the leap to the first team, with which he won the Mexican soccer championship and the CONCACAF Champions League twice. Although González Durán is considered valuable support, who was voted best goalkeeper in the 2015/16 CONCACAF Champions League and played a decisive role in defending the Americanistas' title, he never got beyond the role of substitute goalkeeper. Only in the rounds of the Apertura 2012 (13 missions) and the Clausura 2016 (10 missions) did he stand between the posts more often than the regular goalkeeper (in these cases mostly due to injury).

Hoping for more appearances, González moved to Clausura 2017 to league rival CF Monterrey , who was looking for a new goalkeeper after his previous goalkeeper Jonathan Orozco had moved to rival Santos Laguna in northern Mexico .
