Michael Antonio Arroyo Mina (born April 23, 1987 in Guayaquil ) is an Ecuadorian football player . The midfielder is an Ecuadorian international .
Career
society
He started his career in 2005 at CS Emelec . In 2007 he was banned for two years after a positive doping test . In 2009 Arroyo moved to Deportivo Quito , with whom he became Ecuadorian champion in the same year. In 2010 he went to Mexico , where he played for San Luis FC and CF Atlante . After two years he returned to Ecuador to Barcelona SC Guayaquil , with whom he won the championship in 2012. In 2014 Arroyo went back to Mexico, first to his old club Atlante and after half a year to Club América , with which he won the Mexican championship, the Apertura 2014. He then won the CONCACAF Champions League 2014/15 with Club America and finished fifth at the 2015 FIFA Club World Cup . After his time at Club America, he moved to Grêmio Porto Alegre , with whom he won the Copa Libertadores in 2017 . After one season, Arroyo moved to Barcelona SC Guayaquil.
National team
Arroyo was appointed to the Ecuadorian national team for the first time in 2010. He played the 2011 Copa America and qualified with Ecuador for the 2014 World Cup . In Brazil he was used in two of three group games, in the 1: 2 against Switzerland and in the 0: 0 against France . As third in the group, the Ecuadorians were eliminated from the group stage .
