The Toyota Stadium is a soccer stadium in the US city of Frisco in the state of Texas . The stadium was opened on 6 August 2005, is the home of the MLS - Football club FC Dallas . The construction costs amounted to approximately 80 million US dollars .
The stadium
The stadium has a capacity of 20,500 seats. Similar to Toyota Park , Toyota Stadium has a permanent concert stage on the north side instead of a grandstand. There are 18 boxes for affluent fans. The stadium opened on August 6, 2005 with a game between FC Dallas and New York MetroStars , which ended in a 2-2 draw.
In addition to the stadium, the site has 17 other football fields with natural and artificial turf . FC Dallas uses these pitches as a training ground and as a venue for the reserve teams. In addition, youth tournaments are held on these courts.
owner
The owner is the city of Frisco. Frisco Soccer, LP takes over the administration and the operative business.
Sponsorship
In 2005 the naming rights for the stadium were sold to the Pizza Hut restaurant chain . In January 2012 the sponsorship ended and the sports facility was renamed FC Dallas Stadium.
On September 17, 2013, Toyota took over the naming rights of the station. The surrounding squares have been called the Toyota Soccer Center since then.
Important games
On November 13, 2005, the MLS Cup 2005 was held in Pizza Hut Park. The Los Angeles Galaxy beat New England Revolution 1-0 after extra time. A year later, the facility was again the venue for the MLS Cup. This time the Houston Dynamo won 5-4 on penalties against the New England Revolution.
