Please note the note on the applicable legal version.

The standard amount regulation was a legal regulation regulating the minimum maintenance for underage children .

The standard amount regulation expired with effect from January 1, 2008. Since then, the minimum maintenance amounts have been derived from Section 1612a of the German Civil Code .

The standard amount regulation served as the basis for Part A of the Düsseldorf table as well as for the calculation of the maintenance advance according to the maintenance advance law (UVG). Since 1999, it has been adjusted at regular intervals every two years on July 1 to reflect the development of the average net wage of employees, not to the increased cost of living. The last version was valid since July 1, 2007 and divided the standard amounts into three age groups (birth - 6th year, 7th - 12th year, 13th year to adulthood). In addition, a distinction was made between the child's place of residence in the old (§ 1) and the new federal states (§ 2). The standard amount regulation has been in effect since the Childhood Reform Act 1998 ; Its predecessor was the regular maintenance ordinance , which had been in force since 1970 , but which at that time only applied to the maintenance of illegitimate children.
