Sergio Giovany Mendoza Escobar (born May 23, 1981 in El Progreso ) is a Honduran football player.

Career

Mendoza's career began at Real España , where he drew attention to himself with constant performance and a strong positional play and in 2006 switched to league competitor CD Olimpia , who has always shown a special flair for selection players. In 2009 he was banned by FIFA for one year for using a lip balm with the banned steroid clostebol for violating anti- doping regulations . After returning to the football business, he played in the CD Motagua jersey .

He made his debut in the national team on March 2, 2002 in the international match against the USA. Sergio Mendoza was part of the Honduran squad for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa . When leaving for Honduras in the preliminary round, he played the games against Chile and Spain.
