In 2004 he made the leap into the men's team with play in the Liga Nacional de Ascenso de Honduras . After good performance in the league, the team achieved the runner-up title behind Deportes Savio with the dangerous welcome in the Apertura of the 2006/07 season . In the following Clausura, the team made it to first place in the table, but did not progress in the play-offs. The team around the up-and-coming offensive talent Georgie Welcome completed another successful season in the subsequent Apertura 2007/08, in which the team after a 1-0 win in the final first leg, but a defeat in extra time in the second leg, but not the longed-for second Could celebrate championship title.

Transfer to CD Motagua

After the following seasons of Arsenal Roatán were less marked by success, Welcome got an offer from Honduras first class; the CD Motagua wanted to include him in its expanded roster. He made his professional debut in the Apertura 2008 when he was on the pitch on August 6, 2008 in the 0-0 home draw against Real España for the entire duration of the game. His first goal in Honduras first division he scored on September 11, 2008 in a 2-0 home win over CD Olimpia , when he met in the 72nd minute of the game to 2-0 and eight minutes later by the Honduran long-term international Jairo Martínez was replaced. By the end of the Apertura, he had scored a total of three goals, making him one of the team's most successful goal scorers alongside his teammates, Uruguayan Oscar Torlacoff (6 goals) and Brazilian Jocimar Nascimento (5 goals). With the team he made it to the semi-finals of the Apertura, where he was just eliminated from the eventual master CD Marathón .

In the following season of the Clausura 2008, the team around the 1.93 m tall attacking player did not perform well and only made it to eighth place in the final table. Georgie Welcome scored only one goal in 16 championship games. His cousin and team-mate Shannon Welcome , who only managed three goals, was still the team's top scorer. The subsequent Apertura of the 2009/10 season went much better, in which Welcome was the vice-scorer of the league with eleven goals in 13 championship games behind Jerry Palacios (13 goals) and with the team once again up to the semi-finals to receive the league championship title Nacional de Fútbol de Honduras moved in.

Due to good season performance, the team made it to the finals in the Clausura of the 2009/10 season, but was eliminated there against the CD Olimpia. By April 14, 2010, Welcome had 14 league appearances and a number of six goals scored. From April 2010 onwards, several top European clubs showed their interest in the 25-year-old Honduran striker. In addition to the Dutch club PSV Eindhoven , English clubs such as Wigan Athletic , where two Hondurans are already active with Maynor Figueroa and Hendry Thomas , and the Blackburn Rovers are said to be interested in the Honduran offensive player. The traditional Scottish club Glasgow Rangers has also set its scouts on the 25-year-old. Welcome could leave his home club for an estimated transfer fee of £ 600,000 .

National team career

With the Honduran U-23 national team, the actual Olympic selection, Welcome took part in the qualifying tournament for the soccer tournament of the 2008 Olympic Games and scored one goal in four games. He scored the only goal in the 1-0 win in the final against the USA in the 102nd minute of the game, helping the country to the Olympic Games. For the tournament there, however, he was not appointed to the official 23-man squad, which sparked heated controversy in Honduras.

Welcome made his debut for the Honduran national team on May 23, 2008 in a 2-0 home win over Belize , in which he also scored a goal in the twelfth minute. At this international match, Welcome was also the first Honduran player in history to be appointed to the national team as a second division player. He was appointed to the Honduran squad for the 2009 CONCACAF Gold Cup in the United States by national coach Reinaldo Rueda . There the team was eliminated in the semifinals against the USA with 0: 2 from the current competition. During the entire competition, the then 24-year-old played in three games, in which he remained goalless. Welcome did not become a regular in the Honduran national soccer team until the end of 2009 after what the media described as a dream goal against Latvia , which made it 2-1.

After he was used in qualifying for the 2010 World Cup in a game against the USA, he was brought by Rueda into the provisional 30-man squad Honduras, which should take part in the World Cup in South Africa. After the deletion of some players and the mandatory reduction of the squad to 23 World Cup participants, Welcome remained in the final Honduras squad . Welcome played his first World Cup game on June 16, 2010, when he replaced the ailing and long-serving international Carlos Pavón in the Honduran offensive department in the first group match against Chile from the 60th minute onwards.
