Amado Guevara (born May 2, 1976 in Tegucigalpa , Honduras ) is a Honduran football player who prefers to play in attacking midfield.

Club career

Before Guevara signed with MetroStars from New York , he played for teams in Honduras , Spain and Costa Rica . On April 11, 2003, he signed with the New Yorkers and completed most of his career there. In total, the MetroStars played 103 times and scored 32 goals.

In 2006 he left New York after clashes with the club. Guevara trained with his former club, Club Deportivo Motagua, which was also allowed, but the MetroStars management had forbidden him to play for the team in games. However, he played a number of friendly games for his old club.

In 2007 he moved to Los Angeles to play CD Chivas USA. He was there twice on the pitch and was loaned to Club Deportivo Motagua in Honduras.

Since the 2008 season he has also played in Major League Soccer for Toronto FC.

National team

Guevara is the current national team player and captain of the team. He is also the record national player for Honduras.

Trainer

He has been the coach of the Puerto Rico national soccer team since 2018 .
