Martin Jørgensen (born October 6, 1975 in Ørsted ) is a former Danish football player . He played in midfield on the left flank.

society

He played in the top Italian division since the 1997/98 season when he moved from Aarhus GF to Udinese Calcio . He remained loyal to this club until the 2004/05 season, when he moved to Fiorentina . Here he was characterized by similarly good performances as before at Udinese Calcio. In February 2010, he moved back to his home club Aarhus GF, after he only had a few missions in Florence and saw his participation in the World Cup endangered. With Aarhus, however, he was relegated at the end of the season, but was able to rise again with the club in the following 2010/11 season as a sovereign leader.

On November 11, 2014, Jørgensen announced his resignation at the end of 2014.

A few months later he took part with the national team in the 1998 World Cup in France , where they only failed in the quarter-finals at what would later become vice-world champions Brazil . Jørgensen was used in all games and scored the 1-0 in that game against Brazil. Two years later he also took part in the European Football Championship 2000 in the Netherlands and Belgium . There you had to travel home after the preliminary round. Two years later they took part in the 2002 World Cup in South Korea and Japan , where they fought their way to the last sixteen. The 2004 European Football Championship in Portugal made it to the quarter-finals. For the soccer world championship 2006 in Germany and for the soccer championship 2008 in Austria and Switzerland Jørgensen could not qualify with the Danes. But in 2010 he took part in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa , where they were eliminated after the group stage. The last group game, the 1: 3 defeat against Japan , was his 99th and last international match, in which he was substituted after 34 minutes. A day later he resigned from the national team. On October 29, 2010, he announced that he would return to the national team for the international match against the Czech Republic on November 17 . On November 8, 2010 he was nominated for that international match. On November 17, 2010, Jørgensen was also used, but was replaced in the 29th minute for Daniel Jensen . The game ended 0-0.
