Lars Christian Jacobsen (born September 20, 1979 in Odense ) is a former Danish football player . He last played for EA Guingamp in Ligue 1 . As a Danish national player , he took part in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa and the 2012 European Championship in Poland and Ukraine.

Career

Jacobsen played from his youth at Odense BK and made his first division debut there in the 1996/97 season in the first team . This season he finished seventh with the club. The following year he was relegated to Odense BK from the Super League, the following year straight up again. In the 2001/02 season he won the Danish Cup with BK; he was voted the best player of the finals.

In the summer of 2002 he moved to the German Bundesliga for Hamburger SV . In his first Bundesliga season he was used twelve times. After not being able to fight for a regular place in Hamburg, he returned to Denmark for FC Copenhagen in early 2004 . There he won with FC at the end of the 2003/04 season , the double league and cup. In the following season he finished second with FC Copenhagen and qualified for participation in the second qualifying round for the UEFA Cup . There, FC Copenhagen prevailed against Carmarthen Town and was eliminated from the competition in the first round against Jacobsen's former club Hamburger SV. In 2005 he was elected to the Danish "Team of the Year" in the position of right-back. At the end of the season Jacobsen became Danish champions with FC Copenhagen and qualified to qualify for the Champions League. He met with the team in the group stage on Benfica Lisbon , Celtic Glasgow and Manchester United . Jacobsen was used in all six group games, FC Copenhagen was eliminated as the bottom of the group. At the end of the 2006/07 season they won the Danish championship again.

Jacobsen did not renew his contract with FC Copenhagen, which ran until 2007, and moved again to the German Bundesliga. He signed a three-year contract with 1. FC Nürnberg . There he was only used once in the first semicircle due to an injury at the beginning of the season. He only returned towards the end of the season and played the last five games on the right side of defense. Nevertheless, 1. FC Nürnberg and Jacobsen separated after relegation to the Second Bundesliga at the end of the season.

At the end of August 2008 he moved to Everton in the English Premier League . There he had to wait until March 21, 2009 for his first competitive game after a shoulder injury. It was not until matchday 30 that he was used in the game against Portsmouth FC . By the end of the season there were four league games and one in the FA Cup; then Jacobsen left the club.

Before the 2009/10 Premier League season , the Dane joined the Blackburn Rovers and made 13 league games for the club. On August 31, 2010, he moved to the English first division side West Ham United , with whom he was relegated from the Premier League at the end of the 2010/11 season. In June 2011 the contract with West Ham United was terminated.

In September 2011 he signed another contract with FC Copenhagen. For the club from the Danish capital, he made 25 appearances and five assists. The 2011/12 season finished second and won the Danish Cup. In the following season, the team played as runner-up in qualifying for the Champions League and failed in the play-offs, so they still qualified for participation in the Europa League . In the group stage, the team met Molde FK , Steaua Bucharest and VfB Stuttgart and were eliminated as third in the group. Jacobsen was the team captain in all six games and gave one assist. At the end of the season Jacobsen had 30 appearances and five assists in the league and won the championship. In the Champions League he was used in all six games of FC Copenhagen in the 2013/14 season and was eliminated as the bottom of the group. In the league he came to 26 missions, seven assists and one goal. At the end of the season there was only second place behind Aalborg BK .

For the 2014/15 season Jacobsen moved to EA Guingamp in the French Ligue 1 . He made his debut for the Bretons on August 2, 2014 in the 2-0 defeat in the Trophée de Champions against Paris Saint-Germain . On August 9, 2014 he made his Ligue 1 debut for EA Guingamp in the 2-0 defeat on the first day of play against AS Saint-Étienne . On October 2, 2014, he played for his club for the first time in a European Cup competition in a group match in the UEFA Europa League against PAOK Saloniki . On December 7, 2014, he scored his first goal in the Ligue 1 league game in a 3-2 win on matchday 17 at Stade Reims . He was a regular player and made 25 appearances in his first season in Ligue 1, plus one in the Coupe de la Ligue , four in the Coupe de France , from which Guingamp was eliminated as defending champion in the semi-finals against second division AJ Auxerre , and six appearances in the UEFA Europa League. Jacobsen was also a regular in the following season. He came to 32 inserts in point games and two inserts each in the Coupe de la Ligue and the Coupe de France. National team

Jacobsen played from the U-16 in the Danish national team and was named best player of the year in 1997 in the U-19. After his U-21 time, in which he competed 24 times for Denmark, he was not included for a long time.

On March 1, 2006, he made his debut in the Danish senior team in a 2-0 win in the friendly against Israel in Tel Aviv . In qualifying for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil , Jacobsen played eight games and, as the worst runners-up in the group, missed the qualifying games. In September 2014, qualification for the European Championship 2016 in France began , in which Jacobsen played eight games and finished third with the Danish team; he qualified with the Danish team for the playoff games . He made his last game on November 17, 2015 in the second leg against Sweden in Copenhagen ; the game ended 2-2 , Denmark lost the first leg in Solna 2-1. Thus, the Danish team missed participation in the Euro 2016. He ended his career in the national team after the game.
