Hugo XIII. from Lusignan

Hugo XIII. von Lusignan , called the brown one ( Le Brun ), (born June 25, 1259 , † November 1, 1303 in Angoulême ) was lord of Lusignan , Count of La Marche and Angoulême .

He was the son of Hugo XII. by Lusignan and Johanna von Fougères . After his father's death in 1270, he succeeded him as Lord of Lusignan, Count of La Marche and Count of Angoulême. His younger brother Guido inherited the paternal lords of Couhé and Peyrat .

On July 1, 1276, he married in Pau Beatrix of Burgundy (* around 1260; † 1328/29), daughter of Duke Hugo IV of Burgundy and his second wife Beatrix of Champagne.

Hugo died childless on November 1st, 1303. His brother Guido was his successor.
