Barbara Dittus

Barbara Dittus (born July 11, 1939 in Guben ; † June 25, 2001 in Berlin ) was a German actress and voice actress .

Life

Barbara Dittus already worked as a teenager on programs for children's radio in Schwerin . After finishing school (Abitur) she attended the Film and Television Academy in Potsdam-Babelsberg from 1956 to 1961. This was followed by theater appearances on several stages in the GDR , including at the Greifswald City Theater , in Halle (Saale) and at the Deutsches Theater Berlin , where she played both classical (including Marie in Woyzeck ) and modern roles (including Peter Hacks ' Omphale ) In 1968 she was brought to the Berliner Ensemble by Helene Weigel , to which she belonged until 1993. Even after that she was employed as a guest at the Berliner Ensemble.

The film also attracted the attention of the young actress at an early stage, who demonstrated her acting complexity, especially through her embodiment of proletarian female characters. She had her first major film success with The Dead Remain Young after Anna Seghers . Over 100 roles in film and television followed, including Born under Black Skies , Anton, the Magician , Simply Flowers on the Roof and Der Bruch . Even after German reunification , Barbara Dittus was seen in many television productions and numerous guest appearances in television series (including Wolffs Revier , Liebling Kreuzberg and Ein Fall für Zwei ).

She also worked extensively in radio and dubbing and lent her voice to Sophia Loren ( The Gangster's Doll , DEFA version), Stella Stevens ( California Clan ) and the Witch ( Jana Andrešiková ) in the youth series The Return of the Fairy Tale Bride .

On June 25, 2001, Barbara Dittus died after a long and serious illness at the age of 61 in Berlin.

Her daughter Susanne Lüning is also an actress. With her she stood in front of the camera in the TV movie Molls Reisen in 1993 .
