Wolfgang Müller (writer)

Wolfgang Müller (born August 18, 1941 in Waren (Müritz) ; † November 28, 2013 in Strohkirchen ) was a German writer , radio play and film author .

Life and work

The second son of the administrative secretary and former SPD functionary Kurt Müller and his wife, the seamstress Ella Müller (née Ruhland), born in Waren an der Müritz, he was the 12 years younger brother of the writer Heiner Müller . When his parents fled to West Germany in 1951 , Wolfgang Müller went with them to the West, but came back to the GDR at the end of the 1950s . He worked as a salesman, farm worker, construction worker, ship mechanic and crane operator, then was assistant director at GDR television and DEFA documentary film studio , worked as a freelance writer from 1972 and lived in Strohkirchen near Hagenow from 2002 until his death . He was married to the writer Katja Lange-Müller .
