Martin Eckermann
Martin Eckermann (born November 27, 1930 in Wittenburg , † August 18, 2005 in Berlin ) was a German director and actor .
Life
Martin Eckermann studied at the Mecklenburg Drama School in Schwerin . He then worked as an actor and director in Wismar , Bernburg , Staßfurt , Neustrelitz and Zwickau . Between 1960 and 1990 he directed various television films and series for the television of the GDR / German television radio . His best known and most outstanding works were the multi-part television film Routes across the country based on a screenplay by Helmut Sakowski from 1968, as well as the 1983 film adaptation of the chamber play Casanova at Dux Castle by Karl Gassauer with Wolf Kaiser and Marianne Wünscher in the leading roles.
After the fall of the Wall, he appeared in several Tatort episodes. After 30 years of abstinence, Eckermann returned to the theater stage in early 2005 as an actor. At the Berlin State Opera Unter den Linden he played old Ulysses in the baroque opera Dido and Aeneas .
His daughter Rike Eckermann is also an actress.
