Karl Gassauer
Karl Gassauer (born August 12, 1931 in Prague ) is a German director and writer .
He studied at the theater academy in Weimar and Leipzig and had engagements in Brandenburg, Volksbühne Berlin, Maxim-Gorki-Theater Berlin.
His comedy Casanova auf Schloß Dux , written in 1981 for Wolf Kaiser and Marianne Wünscher , was filmed by Martin Eckermann in 1983 for GDR television and later acted out on many East and West German theaters, including in 1986 with Johannes Heesters and Louise Martini , directed by Rudolf Steinboeck .
